A Blank Staff or Two
The command "space" helps to align notes in these programs. It isn't real well documented, but it works. Making a staff with evenly spaced bars is easy with the codes:

If you omit the "space" command, you'll get something completely different and not very useful.

In fact you can create lots of different effects, even different key signatures. Try combinations, permutations and variations of these lines.
